I am new to this forum and was looking around and I was just wondering if anyone has also trained for a 1/2 marathon while training for a tri? I am doing both this summer but was wondering if anyone has ever done this and if anyone has any good training plans?

You will have to increase your running mileage a bit each week until you are comfortable running 13 miles. This can be done within a Tri training program, even a sprint distance program, by simply increasing your weekly running mileage and adding distance to your weekly long run. But be careful not to increase too much each week. The best recommendations to avoid inury and stay healthy are no more than 5 - 10 percent increase per week. Go slow.

I am training for a 25Km race in may with my first tri for the season in June. I am just concentrating on my long runs as my main workout now. When the race is over. I will bring my bike and swim up to the same level as my run.

I just found out there is a mini marathon planned in my hometown this fall. So after my tri in May, I will begin increasing or continue to increase my running mileage to prepare for that. Only seems logical to me.
