Hey all, thought it was shin splints and figured I would run through it.....well I was mistaken Its been killing me...finally went to doc today and confirmed 2 stress fractures in my left leg.Needless to say I won't be running for the next couple of weeks He even said I should not swim or cycle for the next week.Anyways I'm just venting....
Sorry to hear that - but, take the docs advice if you want to get back to REAL running/training sooner, rather than later, and without return flareups.
right there with you man.. had to bag my last tri of the season tomorrow.. tendonitis in my knee ( believe it to be patellar tendonitis).. just started hitting me last night, luckily recognized what the symptoms were and started the Ice/stretching, etc. right away.. 4 weeks until Chicago, gotta be healed by then, although will be short on miles...
I know the feeling. I had a serious Muscle imbalance caused by an old injury combined with some IT Band issues in my right knee. I was not able to train, under doctors orders, from end of june till mid august. after that and getting enough PT in I have been able to start running but no more races for me till at least November and only then if it feels good enough to do the Seattle Half Marathon. Still I would rather do this now than deal with worse later...
