Subject: Question: USAT AG Nationals Qualifcation
Hi there,

I have a question regarding qualification for AG Nationals.  I just participated in a race this weekend (Publix Escape to Miami) and based on the results, I ranked:
10/85 (which includes Male AG 20-34, Males 30-34 Clydesdale, and Elites).
7/82 if you remove the Elites.
7/61 if you remove the Clydesdales and Elites.

Based on the above, I miss out on qualifying for Nationals AG (next  year) if Elites and Clydesdales are included in the ranking, or if you remove Elites and Clydesdales.  The question is how the AG is actually categorized.  I am fairly confident that Elites are not included, but what about the Clydesdales?  For Nationals AG qualification, are Clydesdales classified in their respective AG, and if so, is my "true" AG ranking 7/82, thus qualifying me for Nationals AG (next year)?

Many thanks,
Rob

To add to the question above, can you qualify with as little as one race placing in the specified qualification, top5/ 5% which ever is greater?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe your ranking for nationals qualification is based only on your placing within your AG.  Elites and Clydes don't count.  So you were 7 of 61.  Close, but no cigar....

Therein lies the question.  Elites have their own qualification but Clydes do not.

"Note:
There are no qualification standards for the Athena and Clydesdale division at the Age Group National Championship in Tuscaloosa, Ala."

So, how can a Clydesdale qualify?  Or is that a stipulation to signing up as a Clydesdale?
