Morning Team.  Well I am officially a cheerleader for you guys through the end of the month.

Someone got my diagnosis right in here and I was truly shocked when the Chiro told me the problem:

ITB but it has not hit my knee - just effecting my upper leg.

No running until almost Thanksgiving - He said I could do the turkey trot most likely but I don't start Marathon training until Mid-December so I am good with that.

Sorry to hear that, but at least you know what the problem is now so you can fix it.

Yes - once he told me it was I thought back over 3 years of different times with the same pain and at least have some clarity.

So onto the therapy route now - Did I say that foam roller hurts?????!!!!!!

Sorry you have to cut back. And the foam roller gets easier (pain-wise). I know when I don't do it for a while it hurts like he11 when I start up again. Hang in there.

speaking of time with our family - we (my immediate) family built a basement under our house. I was maybe in the 2nd grade....we would rush home...get to crawl about under the house (I find this disgustin now..but then it was fun) and we would haul out dirt by the bucket full...dump it in the garage...we would then haul it out to the end of the driveway by means of our red ryder wagon...and dump it for people who need dirt or fill....by the time we finished digging/and bricking this basement...it held a bar, two bunk beds, a pool table, a wall of closets for storage....and hours and hours of fun for us kids! plus we were sooo proud that we built it our selves!

btw my grandaddy was a BIG home builder so of course he was getting the permits and giving us directions...and he did have to have someone come in and install beams to support the house above...but the rest was done by our family!!! but we moved and now someone else is enjoying our game room! or I hope they are!!!

Cool story.  9 years ago my parents built a new house.  We hired a contractor and my dad, brother and I were the hired help for the summer during the build.  they keep talking about selling soon, but my brother and I keep saying no.  While I've never had the chance to really live in the house there were a lot of good memories

wow so you have all those carpenter skills pinned up inside you, eh Neal??

My parents just sold the home we all grew up in...and its hard on us kids...we want them to keep it forever...but my parents lived in 5 bedroom home with a big 2 car garage they had converted into the master bedroom...it was wayyyyyyyyy too big and was becoming too much work for them...so they did sell it ;( and now live in a cute little condo on a golf course...even though Im really sad that someone else is calling my room...thier room!!!!

iowagander - 2009-10-20 9:57 AM Wow page 100 already. Nice work Ghoulies! I jsut had an awesome commute. I left early (ha!) so I could get in to work, hammer out a few things, and get home by 11 to get my wife to the doc at noon. After sitting in traffic for an hour and a half, having only traveled 15 miles, I decided to turn around and just say screw it. Now I'm back at home, waiting to get back on the road. Argh. At least I have a 5k to give me something to look forward tomorrow! See you guys on Thread #3!

dang that is quite the commute....what about biking? is it tooo far!!!??

good luck with your wifes doctor appt! and hope that the traffic is kinder to you from here on in!!!

by the way great picture of you...and did he ever throw you the football?

and which brings me to my second question of the day.....is football your middle name Bill???

No he never did.

Football is my son's and I connection right now so since he is 11 I will take it while it lasts because I know it won't be long.

Pretty soon it will be girls and all that other stuff

Thanks for the comment Jules - you should have seen me 3 miles later cramping and walking and praying for a ride to the finish

heck yeah...football would be my first, middle, confirmation and last name...oh and if married - that one, too! I love seeing parents out playing in the front  yard with thier midgets! nothing better! People should understand the house will not fall down if you do not dust or clean...but the kids grow up soooooooooo quickly that it is soooooooo key to spend any and ALLL time you can with them...if it be football, dolls, reading, crafts, baking....and they do remember, too! mine is constantly bringing up how she misses this or that as a child! sooooooooooo dont you change a thing! keep on a keeping on, Bill! and hey, who knows maybe you  have a BIG football star on your hands! future NFL-er!

and that picture would have never told that ending - you look fresh and fast!!

Could you please explain how the housework can wait to my husband?

honestly... I was like your husband and would not step outside til the dishes were cleaned the home was spotless, then I could do my fun things like shop, bike, hike....but once I became a cancer patient...my outlook changed! I wanted to spend every waking hour with my family and loved ones! TO HECK WITH THE HOUSE! it could have fallen down around me!!! and this truly was for a good 5 years...then I realized ok...Im here for a while and now I have found a happy medium. I recently went thru the SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE SYNDROME...and I basically donated and sold most all my nic nacs and clutter...and have decluttered my home I now have just what I need...my dog, BIKES, flat screen tv, couch, tables bar, and because its only my husband and I the house stays pretty clean now! If you dont have the clutter...you dont have to clean it! and this has worked well for me! as for your husband...whats his phone number...I will have a little life is short chat with him!

Amen to that.

We lost power over the summer and our basement flooded a little so I threw a lot more junk out then after decluttering 3 or 4 times recently.

If it is in a box in the basement for 3 years and has not been touched do we really need it?  I didn't think so.  Oh the 5 bikes get ridden at different times so they are needed

you use the three year not been touched and out it goes...and Im a bit harder on my things...if it has not been used or worn in the past 6 months...GONE! (unless its seasonal like Xmas or Halloween....)

this works for me! I go into my closet every month or so and slim it down! what is nice is I have lost weight and that alone makes it easier to get rid of things...and I realize that if I keep them...that just tells me it will be ok if I gain my weight back...NO SIREE! so out they go!!!!!!!!!!

Sucks about the commute.  At least its a day off.  of course you probably had better things to do than sit in a car all morning

yes, of course he does...its called BT time! running time! and of course even though this is a run challenge...biking! or decluttering his home after all this no clutter talk!!!

Yeah, but what are you gonna do? At least I get to go sit in traffic again this morning! Maybe then the accidents will clear and they'll have talked the jumper down (no joke).

wow thats sad! why do people feel there are no outs and they must end thier life!!?? and then there are the others of us who are fighting cancers... to stay alive! if I could only get in their heads! what causes that!?? poor families of these people! that is who I feel the most sorry for!!!
