Thanks, everyone! You are all too kind!

Johnybutts, I would love to meet at Memorial on Thursday evenings. Yes, unless your brick included a "picnic loop swim," I'm sure you had to cancel..lol.

I am running the HoustonFit 14 miler this Saturday if anyone will be there.

Also, I am doing a 36 mile ride from West Oaks Mall on Sunday am.

I look forward to meeting everyone!

Thanks again for your kind welcomes.

I saw from your profile that you are into Muay Thai. Over the years, I have spent a great deal of time in Thailand. Some of my favorite memories are sitting at Muay Thai with the gamblers, drinking cokes out of baggies and watching the fights!

Does anyone posting here belong to the Houston Triathlon Racing Club?

http://www.houstonracing.com/

I am wondering if it is worth the effort (and money).

Also, I definitely will be running tomorrow with HoustonFit at 5:00 am at Memorial Park (South Side). We will be going 14 miles. I'll be there even if it rains, but have agreed with a training partner that if it is lightening...we will treat ourselves to a big breakfast.

I've been thinking about this - joining up with HRTC that is.. a buddy of my who wants to do iron distance joined in and says he loves it. I'm worried about finding people around my fitness level and trying to fit everything in. That said - they do have some fun events from what he told me... a backwards tri where you run, bike, then finish off with a swim and a barbeque. They have had some great speakers and he seems to get a lot out of it.

Thanks for the thoughts on the Houston Triathlon group.

I will be unable to make it to Memorial this evening, but am interested in doing it in the future.

I will also be running Memorial Park on Saturday with HoustonFit (12 miles).

If anyone is interested, I will also be riding the West Oaks Mall ride on Sunday.

Thanks.

Joe, Tuesday thru Thursday nights have a lot of things competing for my time; the MOST I've managed midweek is a late-night swim on Thursday. Hafta drag myself outta bed early if I want to train on those days. Have fun without me!

I'll be in Austin Wed-Fri this week then RACING in Blanco (!!!) on Saturday. But maybe I'll post a workout here for NEXT Friday... Gomez??

I would definitely like to make it. Unfortunately, travel schedule sucks this week and I won't be there.

I am, however, going back to the old faithful West Oaks Mall ride on Sunday am if anyone is interested.

I used to do that ride, good group. Now I do the Katy Cycle Gang ride out of Katy Mills Mall. They are kinda fast, but a good group.

I typically ride with just a very small group out of the Mall avoiding the larger groups that form.

Is the Katy Mills Mall group the one with Hugo from the YMCA?

My travel schedule has changed and I would like to make it to Memorial tonight.

Can you tell me where you gather at the Picnic Loop?

I'm not sure I will know anyone from their avatars.

If you are familiar with Picnic loop, i look for folks at the main gate. I will be there about 6:30, I will have a green jersey and I will be on a QR Caliente (orange w/flames). Michael will be riding a black Cervelo Prodigy and Patrick is on an orange Canondale. I guess you will be the milkman?

My apologies!

Urgent phone call kept my tied up at the office until late. I did a brick this morning for my workout, but would have preferred to join you.

Hopefully, next week I can make Memorial Park.
