Super swim this morning from Dan at Endurance Sports and Rec.  The area we swam was really nice and Dan made sure we were all well looked after.  Thanks for offering an OWS option for us mid TN folks.  Appreciate it!

Also thanks to the guys from ACME Multisports for the swim at Old Hickory this morning!  Made it much more comfortable to find out how NOT ready I am for all of this!  Embarassed

Warm water!  Will be even warmer for Saturday's race!

TriRunner27 - 2010-06-14 10:17 AM Crunner10,

Where have you been swimming at? I live in Smyrna as well and would like to meet for some open water practice. I bike Tues. Thurs. and Sat normally so any other day would be good. Evenings during the week or morning on the weekends, let me know.

Thanks

I live in Smyrna as well. I am doing the Music City Oly and training for Augusta 70.3. Would love to join you some time.

CRunner10 has a good spot on Priest to swim. Although I struggled a little at first trying to keep up with him, I finally settled down and didn't do too horrible once I regressed back to my normal pace. It was nice to have an area that was out of the way of boat traffic.

FYI, I talked to my neighbor yesterday. He said he would gladly bring his motorboat any time we wanted him to come in order to give us another level of safety. He used to be rescue for some of the speed boat races.

Glad to have company out there. look forward to more OW and hopefully more folks. the boat sounds cool, then we could just go out and back and not worry about getting plowed over by a ski boat haha.

Are you guys planning on swimming Sunday morning at the Weakley lane location? If so, mind if I join in?
I'm in the Smyrna/Lavergne area too. I'll plan on getting a bike right after.

I'm not sure of Chris' plans.

If I'm not mistaken, it is a part of Long Hunter Park. You turn off Couchville Pk onto Barnett. I know how to get there, but I'm not positive I have the road names correctly, but I do think this link will give you the correct directions from Smyrna.

CRunner10 isn't slow at all, but I can assure you that I am.

We swim from point to point, so it is kinda like lap swimming. I just measured the distance from an aerial shot. It looks like the points are about 250-300 yards apart, depending on what angle you take. So with 4 or 5 people out there we will constantly be passing each other going back and forth and each person will be able to maintain their own pace without ever being too far from the other swimmers.
