Run
Comments: I decided not to think too much about this race. The weather was really sub-par (so, I thought), so I just wanted to lolly-gag into the back of the pack and run a smart race for me. Anything sub-30 was good to me. So, I started deep in the pack, and it took me almost 30 seconds to cross the starting mat, once the gun went off. I was REALLY slowed down in my initial pace by naviagating through the group. I forgot how many people who are going to walk after a half-mile think they need to be in the front of the pack. I was just concentrating on turnover and not going so hard I lost form. The one HUGE hill sucked a lot of wind out of me, but I ran the whole thing, and we were treated to all flats and downhill for the last 1.1 mile. Overall, I was fairly pleased with this run. What would you do differently?: Not worry so much about the weather. The weatehr was horrible, but after a 1/4 of a mile, I did not notie it much and actually started to overheat a little, with the amount of clothes I had on. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed some water, walked around and got out of dodge quick before the St. Paddy's Day parade started and they shut down the roads. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, except my own mind and fitness. Event comments: Great race....I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Last updated: 2010-03-08 12:00 AM

It was really snotty out, so pre-race was a gatorade 1.5 hours prior and a medium coffee about an hour out. I did not feel the need for any solid food.
