Just got some cheap aero bars Profile Design Airstryke.

How do you use these things?

Actually I have a pretty good idea.  I hear they can be pretty dangerous (no control).  Any suggestions?

Like anything else, it takes practice.

At first you feel a little shaky riding with them, but with time and practice you can become very comfortable riding with them.

Im sure I will be shaky with them for a while. Right now my bar ends are used like aero bars when Im tired.  Putting my elbows so lose together will take some getting used to.

Hey you are in Arlington, I work in DC and Live in Leesburg.

I was really shaky at first but now I can't live without them. My hands no longer go numb and I just feel more powerful on my bars.  I rode with them on a trainer all winter and it helped get my body used to it.

Well guess what.  The guy I bought them from said they'd fit my bars and they don't but I know I can trade them for a pair at my LBS.  So I'll have a set by this weekend.  I just feel like my wrists get tired and I feel like on my forearms I could sit there and hammer away all day long.

I got used to mine rather quickly and even used them on my rollers during the winter months.

Good luck!!!

Yes

When you first start riding down in the aero-position it can be unstable.  It takes some practice but once you get the hang of it you will be a little faster.
