Subject: This weekend training plan (5/14-5/16)

Looks to be decent weather all weekend, and since I am limited in time on Saturday due to a wedding, I cannot partake in the ILRA group.  So I will offer up anyone who would be interested in joining in any of my planned workouts:

Friday 5/14 - 6pm @ ILRA
Bike/Run brick, depending on weather (wind) either:
2 loops at ILRA (~25miles) + 5mile run
or
1 ILRA Loop+1 Kensington Loop (~35miles) + 5mile run

Saturday 5/15 - 9/9:30am @ Belle Isle, Detroit
Bike 6-7loops (~5.2miles per loop) in preperation of Motor City Tri

Sunday 5/16 - 12noon @ ILRA
Swim/Run (or Bike, if you please)
Out and back OWS in Trout lake + a 10mi run (to Kensington, 1 loop, back to ILRA)
My wife will be swimming with me at the very least.

May join you out there on Sunday.  Planning a long 80ish mile ride tomorrow morning, so I probably won't swim tomorrow.  However, sounds like I should be able to pick up the new P2 this weekend, so once I hear back from the shop, that may trump any planned workout... haha.  I'll let you know tomorrow for sure.

I may meet you out there for a swim and run.  I was hoping to limit my driving this weekend so I may run locally (Berk), however for 11-12 miles I prefer running through Kennsington at then it is amusing!  =) And I have a HIM in just 6 weeks, so OWS time is precious, the more of it the better!

That is a big fat negatory on the OWS for me tomorrow... it was 52* in the water today!  Could not move arms, could not breathe... it was tough.  Frozen craziness. 

Have fun and be safe with whatever you end up doing!  =)

I'm game for at least a swim today.  Got the new bike, so I'll probably ride afterward though -- Can't resist not taking her for a spin.

By the way the water's not that bad!  Wink    I actually jumped in the water for a bit around 11:00a yesterday with some open water newbies in my training group, and while I agree it was cooler than the last Thursday night, I swam across without a problem.  It is warmer closer to shore, but the middle wasn't too much colder once you got warmed up.  Maybe I just have more insulation on me

Sounds good.  We are planning to be there around 12, 12:30, in the Kent Lake parking lot.

Great job on the swim, John!  See you around this week Thursday?  I will be out Thurs/Sat/Mon/Thurs the next week.  My goal is 3 OWSs or so a week.
