Pre-race routine:

Had two hard-boiled eggs for breakfast.
Event warmup:

since the race was in our town and only 1 mile away, my wife and I just walked there. Was a great pre-race warmup for us. Also did some stretching before the race.

This was my first official 5K race last year with a time of 25:24. This year I did it in 21:17 and a new PR! I couldn't be happier with my performance.
