mighty montauk 2010

I am.  2010 RJA Mighty Montauk was my first tri.  in third week of 18 week training program for Mighty Montauk 70.3 in Oct. 

this is the 1st time i'm doing this race. i did fla HIM in may. how did the swim work last year? i'm nervous that i'm not going to get out in time. was it a wave start?

I'm doing the sprint on Saturday.  I thought it would be so nice to get out that way in October. 

i'll be there rooting you guys on. i plan on going out on sat and staying there to tuesday. good luck and good training.

I will be there as well. First time doing this one looking forward to it.

I was going to do a search but does anyone know of places to stay out that way?  I'm going out Friday, staying Friday night and racing Saturday.

I will be doing the saturday sprint race.  Montauk is my absolute favorite place on the planet.  Anyone looking for an amazing restaurant, try the Harvest on Fort Pond (the saturday swim is on Fort Pond too..not sure about sunday's race).  As for accomodations, book soon, it will fill up and can be pricey.  I've stayed everywhere out there.  Surf club is my personal favorite and the Montauk Manor is nice too.  Gurneys is overrated.  Pleny of private homes, condos to rent also at fairly reasonable late off-peak prices.  See you all out there.  Happy Training.
