The Felt Bicycles fork that is affected by the recall.
Felt Bicycles is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall three models of road bikes because of the failures of some aluminum steerer tubes on the bikes’ forks.
The recall affects 2009 Felt model B12, B16 and S32 road bikes. The company sold about 2,100 of the models.
The CPSC says the steer tube can break, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer injuries. The company has received seven reports of the forks breaking. In one instance a rider was slightly injured.
The bikes were sold between October 2008 and May 2010 for between about $2,300 and $3,100.
Owners should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact their local Felt dealer to receive a free inspection and repair.
