The Felt Bicycles fork that is affected by the recall.

Felt Bicycles is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall three models of road bikes because of the failures of some aluminum steerer tubes on the bikes’ forks.

The recall affects 2009 Felt model B12, B16 and S32 road bikes. The company sold about 2,100 of the models.

The CPSC says the steer tube can break, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer injuries. The company has received seven reports of the forks breaking. In one instance a rider was slightly injured.

The bikes were sold between October 2008 and May 2010 for between about $2,300 and $3,100.

Owners should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact their local Felt dealer to receive a free inspection and repair.

For additional information, call Felt Bicycles toll-free at (866) 433-5887 or (866) 4-FELT-US, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.feltracing.com

OUCH!  Someone just posted a few nice pics of a new B16.  I hope it was a 2010 model.

thanks for posting. I just got a call recently from the BS telling me to stop riding and take it in so they can take care of the problem. problem is they are 180 miles away. In the meantime I'll have to live life on the wild side and storm down those hills at 38 mph. I luv being a rebel!

I just had my 2008 B12 frame replaced by Felt with a 2010 B12 frame due to a seat post clamp crack.  My LBS wasn't sure which new B12 frame I was going to get the 2009 or 2010 until it actually arrived.  Looks like both of my B12's missed the bad fork issue.

I found out from this site.  Thanks LBS :/  Then he told me it will be nearly 2 weeks for them to get the part and have it fixed and that "he hopes the new fork will match the rest of the bike"  Not real happy about it at ALL. I've had the bike all of 2 months.  Almost makes me want to go back and get it, ride it til the part comes in and then have them fix it later.  My luck though will be that the fork cracks throws me over the handle bars and I get annihilated in the process without a leg to stand on.  I don't have two weeks of bike training to take off....
