Pre-race routine:

Up at 5:00AM, No breakfast. Arrived at Park about 5:50 AM.

Comments:

Warm day...with a 7:30AM start time there was a good amount of shade on the run course; tree lined course in many areas.


Fueling:

No breakfast

Started on Wednesday with a 4 day load of Race Day Boost.
One day I think I did the full 4 tablespoons per day, other days, 3 tablespoons and Saturday before the race I managed just two tablespoons.

Four days prior to race added 1 Race Cap Supreme and 1 Mito Cap per day

Race day, 1 Endurance Amino and 1 Anti-Fatigue one hour before race. 30 min before race one gel.

Mile 3 and mile 6, took one Enduralyte.

Mile 5.5 one gel.

Midway during race took one more of each, Endurance Amino and Anti-Fatigue.

Mile 10 or 11 had most of another gel.

Had my water belt with two 10oz bottles of Heed which I drank most of. Also took water and walked briefly and 3 water stops. One short pee stop at about mile 11..

Event comments:

First Half Marathon...!! Warm day, 71 degrees at 6:00AM. Light winds.

One complaint: Had timing chip incorporated in bib# but timing system did not record you when you crossed the start line to begin your time for the race. Your race time started when the gun went off to start the race. So, depending on where you lined up to start the race, all the time it took you to get to the start line was lost or added to your total race time. According to my Garmin, my race time was 2:04:23 and distance was 13.19 miles. My official race time was 2:05:20
