Comments: Quite a lot of bumping. What would you do differently?: Sighting could have been a little better. Probably lost 20 secs but it was difficult to see for other heads. Transition 1
Comments: Put shoes in clips. Seemed to work really well. Bike
Comments: Yes, I could have pushed the bike section more and could perhaps have taken 1 to 2 mins off it but I was wary after Ripon and wanted to make sure I left enough in the tank for the run. One thing I was conscious of doing was keeping my heart rate below 150. It tended to be at 143 to 148. Transition 2
Comments: I had used up all my drink but had a spare bottle in my bag so I stopped to take a drink of this. Time used was probably 10 secs. What would you do differently?: Possibly have a second bottle on the bike. Run
Comments: I purposely ran the first half on heart rate monitor. I was constantly trying to keep the heart rate below 150 and preferably around 145 for the first 5k. I took time to get two cups of water and made sure I drank as much as I could whilst I ran. On the second half I gradually increased the speed but made sure that I didn't run out of juice. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
