Just finished my 15K this past Saturday.  Completely amazed that I was able to pace at 7:32/mile.  Hoping I can keep this up for my Half Marathon goal of 1hr 55min.  Just seems like yesterday the thought of running a mile nonstop was something I would never get too.

Bro - You are going to blow away that 1:55 goal. I would set another one after that 15k result that is a little more ambitious.

That is one sick time man!  Congratulations.  I started last fall and I was stuck back at the 11 min/mile pace until I started HIM training.  I'm extremely happy to finally see 9 min miles so 7's impress the heck out of me.  I think you will hit a 1:48 or better during your first half mary.

Good luck!  Laughing

Thanks all!

Michael,

I am hoping for a stretch goal of around 1hr 48min.  I am going to try keep at an 8:12 pace for the first 9 miles and if it drifts a little during the last 4 I should still come in on target.  The 7:32/mi at the 15K was a little deceiving as the race started on Mt. Savage and had some descent to it for the first 5 miles or so.  Nothing drastic but nonetheless was advantageous.  The guy that one the overall averaged 5:13/miles.  Have this half mary in November and trying to do another in January and then start getting ready for Savageman HIM 2011!
