Subject: Training Exhaustion
So ive been training for a HIM the past 2 months, and ive been doing a solid 7 workouts a week. However last week it seemed like my body was physically exhausted, almost to the point to where i had no drive to even go to the gym. When i did go however it seemed like my legs were rubber, like i just ran a half marathon.

Is this normal? I took a few days off but yesterday when i went back i couldnt even get a warm up on the spin bike. Nothing is hurting, just soreness when i start to work out.

yup.  sounds about right.

My guess is that you need an 'easy' week to do some recovery.

Or, perhaps your workout intensity is too high.  slow down!

Sounds like time to listen to your body?  How far out is your event?

I'm no expert, but I know from personal experience that a light week or, perhaps, a little cross training to take the strain off does some good and doesn't hurt your fitness over the long term.

I have a HM coming up this weekend and was "forced" into a couple of easy weeks at the end of October by some international travel and a nasty cold.  Was concerned for a while when I started to ramp-up again, but I feel great now, workouts are good and I think the downtime actually did some good!

Oh, and are you getting enough sleep?  I'm continuously guilty of "just staying-up to watch the end of the game" and I suffer as a result!

You are flirting with over-training.  You need recovery built in to your training program, you need rest, and it sounds like you are going out to hard all the time.
