Subject: last speedwork

how many days should your last main speedwork (5k or 10k pace run) before your marathon. advanced marathon says 11 or 12 days out. what do u guys do?

I was looking at one of the Higdon Advanced plans and 5 days before race day there was a 4x400m track workout at 5K pace with a 2-3 minute jog or walk in between.

I keep doing some speed right up until a few days before.  I just don't do so much of it that it wrecks my race.  If I stop the speed, I lose some edge and ability to go fast.
