Subject: RE: Trail running is improving my overall running... Trail running is a regular part of my training. I run on an easy trail several times a week. Easy as in more like a dirt road in most places. There is also a huge amount of more technical trails here. I race on some of them and will be doing a race on 1/8/11. We have lots of trail races as well with the most famous being the Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon. The local running club has a series of trail races in the fall on some fairly gnarly trails. I've never turned an ankle on the trails, but I have taken a few falls and a couple years ago I broke my left big toe about halfway through a race. I also like to ride my mountain bike on these same trails. This kind of riding can help improve bike handling skills. |
