Then I spent about 10 minutes on an eliptical like thing. I had thought about swimming, but my ear infection isn't cleared up yet. I'm glad I wasn't in the pool, it was really crowded. I've been there many times before where I was the only one in the pool. I've never seen it like it was last night. I'm doing a run/walk home from the soccer fields tonight. I'm riding to practice, then heading home. It's 8 miles from the fields to my house. I'm going to see how far I can get by the end of practice. My husband is going to drive my route and they are going to pick me up wherever I'm at. I'm hoping for at least 6 miles, but we shall see. |

Just found out last night that the local Oly/Sprint race on Memorial Day is adding an Aqua-Bike, which means I can race! Yay! Now I have some real motivation to get in better bike shape and start swimming again! |

I am trying to keep at it but I dropped running and riding when I started swimming seems I hadle only one discipline at a time and rotate a bit... I am going to work the running and riding back in though I have a Tri in May! |

New user 126 NW Indiana | Subject: RE: IronAnneKidd's Mentor Group - Closed for business! Happy Monday all. Hope everybody had a productive weekend. Was out of town for a Honor Guard competition Fri and Sat but did use the fitness room at the hotel for a run Friday night. After competition and drive home Saturday wasnt able to muster the motivation for a workout. Did get the bike back from the LBS and got a ride in Sunday. Sunny but COLD (34 degrees) and WINDY (25 mph). Fought the headwind for the first half then used the tailwind on the way back. Bike rode great.....it's ready for the season....wish I was LOL....run tonight at work then back into the pool tomorrow. |

Boy...it sure is lonely down there on the bottom of the page  Been busy working again this week so training has been limited. I got a great run in outside yesterday.....sun was shining and I got in a little over 4 miles....not spectacular but considering 6 months ago I couldn't make a single lap around the local park (1/3 mile tracK) I'm pleased with my progress. Got my new clipless pedals and shoes yesterday too....of course I had to try them out in the street in front of the house. It took me about 35 seconds to fall over . Always wondered how people could manage to not clip out and fall....now I know....and yes, I DID try them out in the house leaning against a wall first. No problems there but a humbling moment outside. Have a ride scheduled tomorrow for some more practice......hope everyone has a great weekend. It's my anniversary so I'm taking my lovely bride (of 22 years ) to the Blue Chip for some dinner and fun and an overnight without kids and pets! |

After my night out with my wife Friday(which was great), I attempted to get a ride in Saturday afternoon. About 1.5 miles in....A FLAT!! I soon realized I had neglected to move my air pump from my mountain bike over to the road bike.  So, I did get a 1.5 mile walk in, back to the car. By the time I returned home and repaired the tire it was too late to get in my ride, as I had to work Saturday night. So, After working Sat, I headed to the gym Sunday morning for a swim.....MISTAKE! No matter how hard I tried, I just could not get anything working in the pool. either I couldnt breath or wasnt rotating or my legs were sinking, etc....finally after about half my usual workout, I gave up. The weather turned out to be wonderful here in NW IN today, about 70 degrees, albeit a little windy. So, I load the bike and head for the path to finish my ride. About 2 miles in....ANOTHER FLAT!!!!! But this time I'm prepared with a spare(patched)tube and my pump. 5 minutes and I'm rolling again. 5 minutes later, an unbelievable 3rd flat!!!! I'm totally disgusted now....paying no mind to the damage to the tire, I ride the flat back to the car. I stop at the store on the way home pick up a new tube (with slime this time) and tire. Upon arriving home I just push the bike in the garage....not even bothering with the tire repair. Change of clothes and I'm off to the trail for a run. This was the one bright spot....I DID manage to accomplish a good run. Whew....sometimes it seems it's just not meant to be. Well, tomorrows another day. How was everybody elses weekend? |

I sure did......the holes were in a different spot each time....just bad karma, I guess. Put my new tube and tire on last night.....checked the rim again and replaced the rim strip just to be sure. Hopefully this is it for a while. |

Registered this afternoon for the Aqua-Bike at my local Memorial Day Oly. Hopefully that will motivate me to get back in the swing. Looks like running is out for most of the year but I have found a couple of races that I like that are offering Aqua-Bikes, so that will be my focus this year. Hope everyone is well! |
