Rogillio - 2011-02-23 4:14 PM When you figure it out Mark, let me know.  Like you, only happens on the side I breath on.  I've experimented with holding my head up higher and there is less abrasion but I think keeping the head down is better, is it not?

I had the same problem last year.  Then on day my coach told me I was crossing over on one side.  Want to guess which arm was coming across?

What does this mean?  Sorry, don't understand the swim lingo.

Crossing over is when you have an existential moment from a momentarily dying after a really hard set.

(okay, okay - it is when your hand, when extended in the water crosses the centerline of your body.  It causes all kinds of bad effect on your stroke).

Plus, it's one of the most common causes of shoulder injuries for swimmers.

Not to mention the really bad chaffing I was getting from not shaving!

Oh, I thought it had something to do with wearing womens clothing and bad make-up.  I like your definition better.

I had the same issue with abrasion and it was due to my arm crossing over (or near) the midline.
