Are we suppose to wear the wet suit for the entire race?

Nope. You take it off after the swim (so remember to be wearing the gear you want to have on for the rest of the tri underneath).

I did a duathlon last year, and a guy forgot to remove his bike helmet for the second run.  I Guess he then decided that the discomfort of running with the helmet was better than the cost of replacing it, so he ran a 5k with a lid on.  Sort of had me wondering if it was me that was odd.

Not that that has anything to do with the OP, though.  Just thought I'd share.

You Never know.  My brother did an Oly a couple years ago, he forgot his cycling shoes.  Did the whole thing on Look pedals with running shoes on and actually sent the course record for the bike!  He said he was so made and worried, that he went faster...

FWIW; I would highly recommend pre-swimming some if you can. Either if the swim area is open the day before or at the very least, the morning of the race before the race starts.

The first time I was in a wet suite I wasn’t use to the tightness around the neck and chest. So it felt like I could never take a full breath. That combined with the urge to swim well beyond my pace. Made for some rather anxious moments.

So, just relax, breath, and remember it is impossible for you to sink in a wet suite. So…no need for panic. Just have fun. And remember to take it off  in T1.
