Subject: Unplanned break in training

Hi,

I have triathlon in 3 and half weeks from now.  I was following program from BT. Last weekend I pulled my hamstring during football tournament (soccer), and I will hopefully resume my training this coming weekend. What is the best thing to do, after almost 10 days break, do program as planned, so one more week of training and then tapering, or change this training as if this was race B and start preparing for next race in September.

check out THIS THREAD there are some experiences with pulled hamstrings.

basically let it heal properly or you will be taking a lot longer break than should be needed.

I pulled a hamstring a few years ago playing soccer and didn't let it rest properly. It ended up to be a nagging NAGGING injury for over a year.

Yes, my friends are warning me too. I will try to run after one week and if it doesn't hurt just slowly get back to training.

Don't mean to drag this topic for two long, but is there any way to tell when one can start running again?

My tri is coming and I was off training for the entire week Eternity....

Feels ok, will cycle tomorrow and run on Sunday and see what happened....

Do not run until you can walk without pain.
If you start to run and it hurts stop immediately.
