Hi all,

This may seem like a silly question, but anyone got some good rides in or near Breckenridge? I've seen lots of people riding the path up there, but never ridden it.  I'm thinking it might be extremely crowded this weekend, but not sure since I've only been riding for almost a year now.  I'm looking for somewhere I can ride my tri bike.

Thanks in advance!

Brien

North of Silverthorne to Ute pass road and back, good shoulder to keep you away from traffic. Also the rec path is clear for the most part, the only bit closed is up to Copper Mtn, big snow slide across the path. Enjoy the weekend

A little north of Breck is Swan Mountain Road (near Frisco).  Lots of bikes on the road and it will take you around Dillon Res to Keystone. This is also part of the TBP route.  Another option is to ride from Copper Mountain up Vail Pass on the path.  It's not nearly as busy as the path around Breck.  I'm not really sure what condition it would be in towards the higher elevation with all the snow this year...but I assume it's clear.

I rode this last Spring about this time, early in the morning it was serene, fast out and some uphills coming back.  I swore next time I would leave time to go up Ute pass road as it looked like an awesome stretch of blacktop waiting to be rode.  I was on my road bike but my riding partner was on her P2 and loved the ride as well.  We started near Keystone and got in a great ride.

Thanks for the advice everyone!  I am excited to get out of town.  Now all I gotta do is find a place I can swim next Tuesday and I'm good.  I'm sure I'll be able to get in a rec center up there somewhere
