Comments:

Great feeling of confidence going in. I had Ashley E about 20-50 yds ahead of me, and I know about how fast she is, told myself to keep her in sights and things would be good for a possible PR. Didn't piddle around too much at start and still had ton of energy for last mile. Ashley remained in sight for the entire race and I closed on her during the last mile. Was able to pass many people on uphills, which is the plan, I feel good going uphill. Last 300 yds tried to beat this man in blue shirt, did. Had a younger girl in front of me for last 100, it became a sprint race, which pleased the small crowd at the finish line. Dead sprint for last 50 yds and I got her! This almost always happens at the end of races because I sprint very hard at the end, but usually I end up on the short end- this time I won the little mini-battle, but both runners benefit from this.
What would you do differently?:

Keep training hills, I'm very happy.

A new PR, my first time placing in a race- 2nd in my group. All I can do is thank God and keep working.
Post race
Warm down:

Talked with others, drank water, massage, water, food, prizes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

This is my 2nd year running/racing and things keep getting better. I always have believed we get what we earn, and I need to keep earning things.

Event comments:

If it had been hotter I think there would have been problems with enough water being served. There was just 1 station, which becomes 2 (out-back), but the nice guys working it aren't aggressive about handing it out and if a group of runners came by at the same time they'd be in trouble.

This is a nice race, I really like it. Fun and challenging course.
