Comments:

I went faster than I meant to. When I got back and saw that I was just over 30 minutes, my fastest 5k, I was worried about the rest of the race. But I felt good.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Worked well for the first time.
What would you do differently?:

Remember my sunglasses, hang my bike by handlebars on side I'm working from, and double-check valve on water bottle.
Bike
  • 1h 05m 24s
  • 17 miles
  • 15.60 mile/hr
Comments:

I flew, relatively speaking, for the most part, but flagged at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps slow down a bit to have something for the end, but it's a close call.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Since my feet were numb and my hands were tingly, tying my running shoes took extra effort.
What would you do differently?:

Get fast laces or at least shorter ones. Make sure my clip shoes aren't laced too tightly.

Comments:

This one just sucked the life out of me. I was tired going into it, my feet un-numbed as I ran, and my leg muscles had a bit of a hard time, especially since the little ditch-hill that's rather steep went down right after T2. I worried about falling, but didn't. My goal was just not to walk and I didn't. I thought I dragged tail, but my time was only a minute behind the first 5k, which shocked me.
Post race
Warm down:

I walked for 5 minutes afterward, then stretched some.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training so far. Lack of speedwork so far.

Event comments:

Good volunteers, lots of cops at intersections, plenty of water. Just needs more marking on the course.

Performance: Good
Course: It started on the road, but I hadn't realized in advance that it was a trail run. So, a little over a mile in, we shifted out into the woods and onto a dirt trail. Hazards were marked with orange spray paint and there was only one really wet part.

Course: Beautiful, but poorly marked. We rode right by the sea for several miles and that was wonderful and less windy than the rest of the course, for some reason. But at one point, I actually stopped and waited for the next biker to ask if I was on the right road.
