If you're looking for a faster triathlon time, then focus more on the bike than the swim. FWIW, I can maintain a pretty consistent level of swimming fitness on pretty minimal swimming.... not so much with biking and even less so with running. It sounds like you're a very strong swimmer, and my guess is you don't "need" a lot of time in the pool. Proportionally, the importance of the swim in triathlon is much less than bike and run. You have more to gain in overall finish time by putting more effort into your bike (and possibly run - you didn't mention anything about your run pace.... ). |
