  • 1931 meters
  • 02m 01s / 100 meters
Comments:

couldn't see crap...really need to get new goggles..also went into this knowing I need more pool time! it was a good enough swim for where my swim was at this point
Transition 1
  • 02m 37s
Comments:

good transition...29th overall, 1st in AG. little rusty as this was my first race since IMFL last november!
Bike
  • 3h 10m 27s
  • 56 miles
  • 17.64 mile/hr
Comments:

had a plan to keep it in zone 2, unless I felt awesome. this is a tough race, especially when you get to the run. I had no oomph, so I kept it in zone 2. I am ok with the bike, as it set me up for a decent enough run.
Transition 2
  • 02m 35s
Comments:

ok transition. 45 overall, 2 in AG. again, rusty!!
Run
  • 2h 06m 21s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

ice, water, nutrition. ice, water, nutrition. this is a brutal run and I had a mantra of "just keep moving"..goal was to not walk. almost made it.

took it out conservative and held a pretty good pace until mile 6, then it dropped a bit but still steady..until mile 10 when they ran out of cups and I had to stop to fill my bottle :( a few mintues later I felt dizzy and like I was going to puke, so I walked. Then ran. Then walked a bit more...but picked it back up to finish without walking any more.

will do this damn race again until I get it right!! went in with a plan and pretty much followed it best I could. happy enough with this day

Event comments:

this is one challenging race. last year I felt it was harder than Ironman. It's sooooo hot and humid, seems it doesnt' matter if it's june or september....Like the challenge and will go back until I feel I've conquered the course!!! Fastest time was a 4:46...fast but not blazing...slowest time 8:55...man, to be out there that long is impressive!!
