I am probably going to get killed here, but I really like running on the treadmill. Time efficient. I can do it with the kids in the house (My kids are borderline old enough for me to go for a long run and not be readily available). I can't cheat on pace. It is the only time I ever get to watch TV.

I have dozens of creative workouts that I do on the treadmill to keep it interesting. Yes, I run outside, but the treadmill is an amazingly useful workout tool for me and will easily see 500-1000 miles of work this year.

I have not run on a treadmill for a few years after deciding to HTFU for the Iowa winter months.  I make sure to get my important runs done in the early AM before it is too hot and don't worry about the heat too much for maintenance mile days.  Just use that as heat acclimation.  

No, you do not need to change your time one the treadmill but bump it up to 1-1.5% incline like everyone else is suggesting and you will be good to go!
