Pre-race routine:

Got to race about 6:15 to set up transition. Set up and then went for a 10 minute run to warm up a little. I usually bike 10-15 mins to warm up but didnt this time for whatever reason. Did get into water for a 5 minute warmup before the race director got everyone out of water to get things started.

Had an OK swim. I'm not very fast but at least I stayed relaxed for the whole swim. Got t-boned once but didnt let it phase me. The guy apologized and we just kept going. I cut 3 minutes off my swim time from 2009.
What would you do differently?:

Push my pace a little bit next time

When I got back to t1 there wasnt any room for me to get to my bike.Right next to me were the other guys in my AG that beat me out of the water. I didnt feel like pushing my way in between them so I took my time and kind of let them get out of T1 before me. I could have pushed my way in but I decided to just relax and let my heart rate come down anyway so I took my time. I probably lost about 30seconds in T1. No biggie

Had a mechanical so I had to stop and get off bike for about 1:45 secs to take care of. Panicked a little and probably pushed a little too hard trying to make up the lost time. I think I paid for it a little bit on the run. Didnt have that extra zip in my legs on the run
What would you do differently?:

Not have to stop to get off bike. was hoping to be sub 30:00 on the bike

Someone racked bike in my spot so I had to rack over a little bit.
What would you do differently?:

Dismounted a little early from bike and had to run a little more. Did much better on transitions last time I did race

A little slow because I pushed bike to make up lost time. Got passed by 1 guy in my age group. Stayed with him for about a half mile but then anded up fading. He beat me by about 30 secs. Didnt have the kick that I usually have. Weather was pretty hot at this point

Event comments:

I did the race in 2009 in the pouring rain so I really wanted to do this race again. I like the race because it is well organized and has a really good vibe to it. I met some really nice people at this race. It was a nice mix of hard core Tri guys, but also had a good amount of newbies too.
