Swim
Comments: Not sure what the heck happened here - I swam 30' at Rock Hall a few weeks ago and have felt much stronger in my swim workouts since that time. Some people seem to think the TeamZ jersey may have slowed me down by a few minutes - it was my first time using it in a race and apparently the back pocket is poorly designed and catches a lot of water. What would you do differently?: Bought that onsie I've been pining after! Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Very well-executed ride on a hilly course that does not play to a guy my size's advantages. I could have maybe gone a little harder on the uphills and had some in the tank, but I wouldn't have wanted to go anymore than a minute or two faster than I went. I did a good job of cornering and really hammering it on the downhills. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Great run - set a near-PR on a hilly course. I really had to dig deep to catch Chad in the last mile but I was finally able to run him down. I surged to over 170bpm during the final stretch and hanged on to the end, which tells me I have improved at running at and above my LT. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Possibly that stupid swim jersey!!!! Event comments: Great race, would do it again next year if I didn't have an IM planned! Last updated: 2011-07-29 12:00 AM
