Swim

  • 400 yards
  • 02m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

the width of the start compared to the number of people in my wave caused some serious violence from the start to the first buoy. there was a horrible bottleneck at the first buoy where at one point it felt like we were all just wading there.

I was FMOP here.

What would you do differently?:

start late, or start swim off to side
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

some bastard put his/her bike on my transition area (they were supposed to be on an entirely different rack) after I headed to the water.

Comments:

felt good. ran negative splits. drank some water around mile 2. it was a good idea.

Ran BFOP for the run in my age group.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around. drank water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of a strong base and strong speed training.

Event comments:

Amazingly executed race considering there were 700 racers. I've never seen so much post-race schwag and food.

Great race! What a fast age group! If I put up those kinds of numbers I would have been 1st or 2nd in my AG. (W 35-39) I agree with the post-race schwag - a great spread!

Congrats on your race!
