Subject: San Diego folks, help with ideas for business dinner outings
I will be in San Diego the week of 10/3 for a business conference.  As part of this week, I need to take some people out for dinner.  We will be in the convention center area, Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village.

Any suggestions?  I usually take 5-6 people, prefer something non chain, quaint, funky, known to the locals.

Thanks for your assistance.

I am open on the type of food.  I am just looking for several choices to look at so I can maybe match it with the particular group.

Here are a couple places that I've either been to or heard good reviews from friends

Davanti Enotec - Italian in Little Italy

Oceanaire Seafood- Downtown- great service and food

Top of the Market (Seafood) - Seaport Village - Views of the bay, next door to the USS Midway

Indigo Grill - Interesting menu, funky vibe, latin flavors

Rei Do Gado - Brazillian Steakhouse -Downtown- Great option for meat lovers

Puerto La Boca - Latin Argentine Steak house - Little Italy

Asmara (Really Good Ethiopian food)- City Heights (This place isn't fancy but the food is great, it's a little out of the way too)

If you're willing to take a cab or drive there are some great options in Hillcrest.

We can cab it so if you have more options, post them.  I will take a look at these and pass them along to the others in my group that need to do the same thing.

Thanks!!!

Aladdin Mediterranean Cafe

KousKous - Moroccan

Yu Me Ya Sake House - Sushi (More relaxed atmosphere)

Pacific Beach

Sushi Ota - arguably the best sushi in San Diego, very traditional, (make reservations well in advance)

La Jolla (This one is the furthest from downtown)

George's California Modern - California modern- Across from the Cove (big swim spot for triathletes)

You can also try:

Gaslamp

Croce's (opened by Croce's widow)

Lou & Mickeys - great steak and seafood, right across from the Convention Center at the start of the Gaslamp

Donovan's Prime Steakhouse

De Medici (Italian)

Yard House (somewhat of a chain, still small) Over 250 beers on tap

Seaport

The Fish Market or for more upscale Top of the Market (same location)

Edited to add:

Short Cab ride to Coronado:

Peohe's (great view and good menu)

Miguel's Cocina (good Mexican food)

Brigantine-Coronado
