Fun race, but pretty HOT out there, despite being so early in the morning. This 15 year-old kid kept on my tail most of the way, which in a way was cool because it kept me pushing, but he literally stepped on the back of my heels 7 times during the race. Finally, I just let him pass me. We both almost missed the final turn towards the finish line. Some poor guy behind us did miss the turn and didn't hear us when we called after him.

Even pacing. Went out like a bat out of hell on that first mile, which obviously wasn't a good idea given that I did a 6:15 for the third mile. Next goal: sub-18:00 5K
