Pre-race routine:

Rested and ate high carb diet. My wife and I ran this together. We got up at 0500 because I had to work. I felt good but probably didnt get as much sleep as I shoud have ( no an excuse though ).
Event warmup:

Walked around and streched. Nothing fancy but my wife and I noticed that everyone had on expensive stuff and equipment...we felt a little indimadated but managed to focus on what We were there for....us; and to have fun. We did :-) Our first race ever was a sucess!!

Comments:

I need to be faster. I think my run should be 6 min miles just to keep up with them all.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 00m 35s
Comments:

I need a new bike !!
What would you do differently?:

Have a new bike.
Bike
  • 40m 15s
  • 10 miles
  • 14.91 mile/hr
Comments:

I dont know what my rank was since the times are all ran together.
What would you do differently?:

Aside from a new bike, I think that I rode well.
Transition 2
  • 00m 20s
Comments:

I was so worn out so finding my straps was fun. I didnt fumble too much but the gloves were a different story. I just pulled them off inside out and threw them on the ground next to my bike.

The biking stage area was cramped and a lot of bikes were knocked over when people took thier bikes off the rack.
Run
  • 08m
  • 1 miles
  • 08m  min/mile
Comments:

I died on this one. I wanted to walk so bad but there was a someone in front of me and there was no way I was going to walk...I passed her at the .5 mile mark and picked the pace up enough to feel comfortable.
What would you do differently?:

I really need conditioning on the last run. My leggs were tight, I was tired, and thirsty.
Post race
Warm down:

waled around and streched....drank a lot of water and douced my head with water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my body

Event comments:

The race had no course maps. They told us at the last minute what to do; would have been nice to have had advance notice or a printable map.
