South Carolina Triathletes

Welcome! I live in the Southern part of the state (on the GA/SC border), but I come to Cola., Greenville a good bit. Probably can't help as a training partner, but just wanted to say "Hi!"

I just wanted to say Hi too, I go to school at USC in Columbia, but unfortunately, I cannot help with the training part. I do most of my training from 10-midnight monday-saturday at our gym since I have classes all day. Always nice to see a fellow South Carolinian though!!!

I'm in Greenville SC and there are several Triathlon groups throughout the state, the best way I've found to get training partners is to go to a few meetings and get your name on the mailing list. For example the Upstate Traithlon club (Greenville) has a weekly ride leaving from Carolina Triathlon on Woodruff road every Saturday. As well as other group training listed on the club calander. (www.TriClub.org) Our next meeting is this Thursday at the Carolina Triathlon Store at 6:30 and Katie Malone will be addressing the off season.

I've heard there is a group in Columbia but I can't remember what they are called. There is one in the piedmont and one on the coast. For more information about that area you might want to contact www.go trisports.com They sponsor several teams in the Hilton head Savannah area. ALSO..... Contact the afore mentioned Carolina Triathlon store the owner is our club president and he has contacts with the Set up race people and probably knows more about the available groups than I do. (I'm a rather anti social triathlete. LOL)

Thanks for all the replies, I am going to the upstate tri club meetin this thursday. I work mostly weekends and have the week off, currently do a long bike on wed am from Clinton to a Mennonite Bakery/restaurant in cross hill and back (about 40 miles) with another guy. Hey I am over here in Upstate SC....I live in Anderson which is just west of G'ville. I belong to great group the "cyberspinners" although it is not a club because we don't pay membership.....we ride out from the Pendleton and surrounding area and go up into NC border. Let me know if you want more info. I am also a member of the upstate triclub but have not been able to get up to one their meeting but their site has ride info.Also the "Freewheelers" are in Spartanburg... I do some of their organized rides.Cat

Thanks for all the replies, we just started a cycling group here in Laurens County, we do long rides on wed am and weekends. I also joined the upstate tri club and hooked up with some good training as well. Hope to see yall at the races in 2006

I just wanted to say hi. I'm from Greenville and want to get into Tri's. I'm in the Military and won't be back home until January, but will jump into the scene when I get back.

I am just getting into this whole thing. I enjoy running, own a bike(not the racing kind) and have a pool in my back yard.

One month left until I'm in SC. Too bad I'm not a Clemson fan. Don't worry, I don't like that other team either..... GO BUCKEYES!!!!

I'm planning on doing the Paris Island and Clemson Tri next year. Hope to see you guys there.
