You know you're in a small town when... (Page 2)

I was riding my motorpickle home to Los Angeles from Montana (used to be in the Air Force) and I managed somehow to puncture my back tire about 20 miles from this little town. I roll in on my rim practically to the local Honda dealer to get a new tire. There was maybe five businesses in this town and the Honda dealer happened to be one of them. Oh the funny looks I got. Anyhoo, I go to get my tire to find that they only sold off-road bikes/quads and snow-mobiles. So much for my 4 days of leave. No problem, they can FedEx the tire in right? Nope, they could order it from another dealership from a bigger town that could order it from their supplier and have it bussed to this little joint in the middle of nowhere. Three days later the tire came in on the Sunday bus. After three days of watching TV in a hotel room that didn't have satellite, I was ready to get the hell out of Dodge. But of course it was Sunday, so none of the businesses were open. The owner of the hotel was nice enough to call his buddy that owned the local mechanic shop and he showed up and put the tire on for me. Paid for everything with a check. Good times good times...
