Subject: how to make ff yogurt thicker For those who like their yogurt on the liquidy side, this isn't for you. But, if you've ever tried Greek yogurt, or are looking for a sour cream alternative... I hope you can take advantage of what I've recently learned Only tried it w/plain. But I recommend plain yogurt - add your own fresh fruit or jam so YOU control the sugar/sweetener content!
You can STRAIN yogurt!
Yes, you lose some of the volume. Not really sure about effect on nutritional content. Help here?
I tried cheesecloth. It worked, but it was messy and I ended up losing a decent amount of my finished product because it was stuck in the fibers. And who has cheesecloth around anyway? Coffee filter? Yes! I used a conical filter and put it over a glass. Scooped about 1 cup of yogurt into the filter, put a rubber band around the filter/glass to keep secure. The glass was good because it was tall and my filtered yogurt was not in danger of touching the water.
