You have to make a jump to it at some point. Have you trained enough for the half? If you have the training you should do all right. You will probably do better in your next attempt because of you experience.

good luck,

Just curious as I'm also racing a 1/2 this weekend in NC.

Is anyone going to be at White Lake on Saturday?

Brian & Phoenix!

Best to you both. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on your race as I'm making the leap to 1/2 this summer. What's different, what are the challenges, etc.

Dana,

I always post a lengthy report after each race as it's helpful when prepping for the next event (ie. reviewing notes, HR's, nutrition, etc...). It's more of a guide for me, but others usually find it helpful when looking for different templates on how to plan their own race day strategies.

FYI - My race report from Ironman Florida '03 is posted here, as you may want to give it a read.

Good luck on your leap!

Thanks, Brian--

That was a great read. I've been realizing that I need to give much more specific attention to nutrition and hydration as I increase my distances. I've been flying by the seat of my pants. I'll have to begin research, but your RR was a good starting point for me!

Best on... Sunday??

Thanks for the PR - and the encouragement - as we move further in this sport these reports will really help. I have this fantasy that someday there will be some BT folks meeting in Hawaii - think?
