Subject: Any BTer's doing St. Croix - May 7th?

Morning Everyone,

Just been reading another post which mentioned an event and that several BTer's would be there.

Got me thinking - anyone out there planning on doing the Ironman 70.3 on St. Croix USVI May 7th. There is also a sprint, which I did last year, in my novice opinion the entire event was very well organised, about 500 competitors in the 1/2 and another 100 in the sprint. www.stcrioxtriathlon.com

  In all seriousness, I really would like to do this race "some day."  It may take a little work to convince my wife though.  Since I won't be there this year, I'll definitely be looking for your race report.

Well, I pitched the idea to my wife...

 

And we are tentatively planning to join you in 2007.  I couldn't believe it.  I told her and she just said "That'd be great, when is it?"  No crying, pleading, begging or nothing.  I found the website and so wish we could go this year, but it's not in the budget.

 TH3_FRB (what kinda name is that , have you found any reasonable places to stay?

Great news, look forward to seeing you all there :-)

For hotels, I will check with the race co-ordinator in March (going to St. Croix on the 5th for a Sprint Tri) - In the mean time, the apres-race party is usually held here

http://www.divicarina.com/divicarinabay/resort.asp, but it is quite a ways from the race in Christianstead - so I'll get some more info. I plan on taking a boat across and will stay on it.
