Here is where you can post your early season schedule. Feel free to post events other than just tris - dus, running, rides, swims, etc. For races after July 15th, post in this thread:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp...

Also, please 'vote' for the races listed, and add any that aren't, so we know how many BT'ers will be at each race. This is retro-active to Tri-U-Mah, so don't forget that one!

Hey! You got in!  How about Roger?  Haven't blogged him for a while lately...

OR whistlestop

I had 3 friends run Whistlestop Marathon last year.  They said it was fantastic (FLAT!, scenic -- leaves changing colors, great turnout from the town)!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the big woods 1/2 marathon trail run and will only do the whistlestop if i feel like i really want to get that first full marathon in this year. ian has done whistlestop and said it was beautiful. i remember the pictures he posted from the race in '04 were just amazing.

Need your help.. I am considering the Albert Lea triathlon because of the date it will be help on. However, I am very concern about swimming in the icy water, 19 miles of biking and 5 miles of running (not a runner). Should I hold off, get some training done, and aim for other races in June or July?

Denise,

I haven't done the Albert Leat Tri (I'll be doing my first Tri later this summer). I'm considering it for next year, as it seems like it would be a good one to start the season. Anyway, I lived in Albert Lea for six years, so I though I could give you a little scouting report.

The water will be cold (no surprise there). I'm not exactly sure where they are putting the bike course (not much help there). It will probably be west of town, which means your typical rolling coutnryside. From the description, it sounds like the run will be around the lakes in the center of town. The run might be a bit longer than most sprints, but the course shouldn't be that bad. A couple minor hills and then mostly flat (or mostly flat and then a couple of minor hills, depending on which direction they run it).

I hope that helps.
