Subject: HRM Book Recommendations
I am going on vacation next week and it's a 10 hour drive to the beach... So I need to place an Amazon order soon to have enough reading material for the trip. I wondered if anyone can recommend a book on using a HRM to train. I looked on Amazon, and I don't see any that are triathlon specific, so I was hoping someone has one that they can recommend.

I just ordered my HRM on monday, and thought it would be good to actually learn how to use it...

For that matter, if there are any really great triathlon books that you can't live without, please let me know. I already qualified for the free shipping, might as well do some damage.

I am already ordering Core Performance, and am considering the Triathlon Training Bible based on my search of the forums and a recommendation from a fellow BTer.

Thanks!

I have a few books I am selling for my TNT fundraising, incluing a very good HR book whose title escapes me right now... will post when I get home tonight.

They are all very gently used, and each is 15 bucks, no S&H. So about the same as amazon, but the monsy goes to a good cause AND you get the tax deduction!  Check back after 4 CST.

Ya, here we go.  It's Precision Heart Rate Training, Edited by Edmund Burke PhD.  In new condition, it's a paperback, and the spine isn't even cracked.

Also have
Bicylcing Magazine's Complete Book of Cycling Skills, 15.00 (very gently used)
Chi Running by Danny Dreyer, 15.00 (like new)
Best Runs by Joe Henderson 15.00 (gently used)

will be posting in classifieds...

I found "Heart Rate Training for the Compleat Idiot" really useful.  It's not triathlon specific, but it does a wonderful job of teaching you how to use different training zones.  It will really force you to slow down your runs, but you'll be able to build amazing endurance.

That sounds perfect for me! I have been having a very hard time adding distance to the runs. It is definitely my weakest sport.
Thanks!
