So me and 3 year old go out for some pace line work (he likes to rub his front tire and my back tire...) and stop at the park to play on the playground. We are having a blast and then I see this yellow lab go running by with a helmet in his mouth. That’s funny I think then I look at my bike and it's my helmet....not as funny. This dog doesn't listen at all and thinks it is a new game....keep the helmet away and chew hard. It took them at least 10 minutes to get the helmet back. Yes it was trashed, there are at least 50 punctures in the foam and a crack on the top. I was relieved when they said they will by a new one and did not flinch when I told them how much (it was a Giro Atmos) and I have a race this weekend and need it quick.

Lesson learned? Hummm, maybe clip your helmet to the bike so the dog won't steal it???

As a dog owner, I apologize. But what happened to leash laws. I guess that is probably why they feel responsible. Outside of the dog park, my dogs are never off leash. Granted if they were they would pick up a smell and never come back. (Problem with Bloodhounds)

Dogs will be dogs.  I'm glad they offered to pay and didn't complain about the price.

If you leave it strapped to your bike, then you'll have that dog pulling your carbon fiber frame over the merry-go-round!!!
