Subject: Masters swimming clubs NYC

I live in midtown and I'm planning on completing my first tri this summer. I'm looking for a masters group to join.I know how to swim well, but I've never done it competively. So Im sure Im more of a beginner. I would like to join a group that isnt all experts.Any advice?

I'll share my experience from a couple of years ago when I got back in the pool to train for a 2.4 OWS. I searched for masters teams and found Red Tide. They swim out of John Jay College in the 50's on the West side, which was most convenient for my home-to-work commute. They were a very relaxed, welcoming, friendly team. The mix of abilities ranged from recreational/fitness to Tri athletes to competitive swimmers to national masters champion swimmers, 20-somethings to 60-somethings. I highly recommend this team. Maybe some of them post on this board.
