Subject: Bike Fitter

I am looking at getting a new (first) tri bike. I want to get properly sized before I go looking for a bike and get my mind set on one brand or another that my not fit me.

My question is does anyone know of a good fitter in the Dallas, Tyler or even Houston area? I have done some goggle searching but hate to just pick a name out of a hat so to speak. Pretty much all the websites I go to look good but that does not mean the person doing the sizing is good just his web designer.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you want to come to Houston then Shama Cycles comes highly recommended.  He'll even recommend brands he doesn't carry at his shop.

Bud Zarsk, the owner of the bike shop I go to has a very good reputation in the tri community.  It's Knobbies & Slicks in Colleyville. Here is a link to his latest blog on the subject.  http://knobbiesandslicks.blogspot.com/  They have been very good to me as a total novice in terms of bike fit (on my Craigslist special), service, shoes, and helping me to learn.  So I can recommend them as nice folks as well.

Cynthia at the Bike Barn Custom Fit Studio has about every certification under the sun. It's almost like a medical exam (in a good way). Super job. Highly recommend.

Cynthia has fitted me on two different bikes.  I'll second TJ's recommendation.  She was great!

If you're in the Tyler area, look up John Cobb. He is known world wide as an innovator in the field of bike aerodynamics. He will set you up fairly aggressive but you will see immediate improvements. His saddles cant be beat for comfort.

Anyone know what he charges?  I go to East Texas every couple months for business, could definitely work this into the schedule
