Comments: Today's race was all about a rehearsal of my pace for next week's marathon. I went out with the 2:15 pace group (10:18 splits) and ended up losing them at an aid station around mile 4. The pace felt really good, easy and did not require much effort. I accidentally picked it up around mile 10 and finished faster than I had wanted. I finally started to feel some light fatigue and soreness around mile 12, but I had also started running about 30-45 seconds/mile faster than I was supposed to. I ate 3 clif bloks at race start and 3 more at mile 6 or 7. Drank some powerade on the course. What would you do differently?: Nothing, this went about as well as I planned. Post race
Warm down: Walked to shuttle bus back to parking. Drank some powerade, then hot chocolate. Drove home, stopped for Subway. Hit hot tub after returning home, about 3 hours after race finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Only the fact that I have a full marathon in one week. Last updated: 2012-01-01 12:00 AM

Drove down the morning of race, two hour drive. Used race provided parking and took shuttle (school bus) which was really easy and convenient.
Nothing, light stretching and trying to keep warm.
