Subject: Cervelo "share the ride" deal

Been lurking on BT for a couple years and finally found a reason, or 2000, to post...

I’m interested in buying a P2 under Cervelo’s “share the ride” program, which gives a $2000 discount on the purchase of two bikes purchased from the same dealer by January 31 (while inventory lasts).  I am looking for someone to partner with to buy the second bike and share the savings.... before I talk myself into a new road bike too.  While not every bike dealer is participating in the program, there is one in the Twin Cities that is participating.  Let me know if you are interested in partnering on this deal.

What store in the cities and is it only on the P2's? or is there a minimum price per bike?

It is basically on all Cervelos except the P1.  I know Penn Cycle is participating and has some remaining P3s and P2s.  They also have some "s" and "r" series road bikes.  It is a good deal if you can partner up.  Not all the Penn cycle stores carry Cervelo.  I know the Bloomington one does as I use them frequently.

I might be interested in the S1. I saw they have one in my size on the PennCycle web site. Is that the store you are looking at?

I am looking at Now Bikes in Arden Hills.  Believe they only recently started carrying Cervelo.  The website doesn't really show any tri bikes, but they have been selling multiple other brands for a while.  Bike does not need to be in stock at the store.  They can check the available inventory from Cervelo and let you know if your size and model are available.

Really wish I had the extra cash to replace my road bike.  Just not a good time financially right now.  Good deal for the right bike. Good luck finding a partner.

My Brother-in-law and I just took advantage of this offer this week, both picking up new P2's.  What a great deal!!  I hope you are able to partner up with someone.  When I talked to the guys at Penn they would only offer it on in stock bikes, but maybe NOW would be different.  I have a couple of buddies that have talked about it, if any are serious I will have them get in touch with you.

Don't wait for me to commit to this.  I'm just way to wishy washy right now, sorry.

Now Bikes paired me up with somebody who called the shop to inquire about the deal so my P2 has been ordered and will arrive in a couple weeks.  Definitely a great deal if you need a bike and Cervelo fits!

Cervelo is offering the deal on bikes purchased through January 31.  Details and the terms/conditions can be found on the company website: www.cervelo.com/en_us/bikes/share-the-ride/.  If not in stock at the bike shop, a bike can be ordered from Cervelo but it must be available to be delivered by Jan 31 to qualify for this deal.

Interesting that Gear West is now participating in this program.  I went out there last weekend and was told they weren't participating, which is how I found NOW Bikes for my purchase which was a good experience and much closer to home for me.  Having GW participate will be good for others interested in this deal since they probably have the largest inventory in town.

They have a decent selection of road bikes.  Not so much on the TT bikes.  They really recommend Felt bikes, especially TT.  They also sell QR and TREK.  I think they are a good dealer and buy a lot of supplies from them; but it wouldn't surprise me if Penn has more stock.  I have never been to NOW Bikes and will make it a point to stop over and check them out.

FWIW, NOW is very pushy for sales from my experience. Close the deal quick is their motive. Watch out for it.

I have a friend that is looking to buy a T1 frameset through this deal.  If interested, please respond and I'll pass it along to him.

Does just the T1 frameset qualify for this? if so that would just be one outstanding deal for about $250!

Sorry, my buddy has since learned that it doesn't.

P5 is out. No wonder they're pushing to get rid of inventory.
