Hi all my fellow BTers, looking for a local masters club to help with my stroke.  I have 0 swimming experience, so all the help i could get would be great, it just looks like all the clubs around are competative.

Again any help would be appreciated

Downers grove Ymca has a pretty good swim coach in the early a.m. I swam with them a couple of years ago and plan on starting back in the next couple of weeks. They have a good group with peoples just beginning, intermediate and Iron man swimmers. They are broken into lanes by ability. Its a pretty good group.

There is a YMCA in Plano/Oswego that may have a masters swim.  The Vaughn Center in Aurora and Delnor Wellness in Geneva are the two that come to mind in the far western burbs.  Marmion may also have a masters swim group.

TriSmart is run by MJ Slikas, she's supposed to be phenomenal.  They practice at the Lemont CORE at 127th and 355 in the early AM.  www.trismart.com

Before Mj started at lemont, she swam with the y group in the a.m. And Yes she is awesome and has one of the best tri groups in the south western suburbs. I have been a member of tri-smart for two years and it is great.

Very casual masters program at USA Health Club & Spa in North Aurora.  You have to be a member of the gym, but if you join, the classes are very cheap and not intimidating or competitive at all.  They meet Tues & Thurs at 5:30am and Friday at 10am...Tues & thurs there is usually only 3-4 people, so the coach would have plenty of time to work with you if you wanted it.

Elgin Centre (park district) has a masters program.  no info on when they meet though, I just saw their schedule and swim training log change each time I was doing laps
