Overall Rank = 123/142

Age Group Rank = 2/3
Pre-race routine:

Fri night 1 1/2 hrs sleep due to 20 people partying in the 4 rooms next to mine. Cops finally kicked them out at 4:30 am after the manager had "talked" to them about 4 times.

Sat AM worked the sprint finish line of the duathlon since swim cancelled. Didn't hydrate well. Switched hotels. Sat afternoon worked packet pickup. Didn't eat well.

Woke up at 5 on Sun. Had a half blueberry bagel, a banana and cup of regular coffee (I drink half caff). Knew the night before that the Garmin had disappeared. Found it just before checking out of the hotel after the race. Rode to transition with Pam from Trizones. Got marked, set up, and waited for the swim to be cancelled.
Event warmup:

Walked back to the hotel to get cycling gloves which I had opted not to wear after the swim. Had a honey stinger waffle. Danced to a little music and waited for the time trial to start. Looked at all the men waiting to start the OLY.

Bike
  • 1h 16m 15s
  • 21 miles
  • 16.52 mile/hr
Comments:

The training that I did in the wind really paid off. I felt really good into the wind, and coming back was a hoot. Had a GU gel somewhere on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, just keep training.
Transition 2
  • 02m 4s
Comments:

I cycled in socks, so T2 was easy. I just had to take a few minutes to hydrate since I was behind on it from the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate more on the bike to get out of T2 faster.
Run
  • 1h 10m 14s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 11m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

Left quad started cramping at 1.5 miles. Right quad soon joined in. It didn't matter whether I was walking or running. I did both. Lots of encouragement from other runners and spectators. I liked seeing everyone.
What would you do differently?:

More electrolytes, salt, water, etc.
Post race
Warm down:

Went directly to the med tent since I still was cramping. Had Pure Tums, ice and massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cramps.

Event comments:

High Five Events always puts on a great race. They had everything possible thrown at them and handled it extremely well. Can't wait until next year.
