Subject: Fourth tri, HUGE improvement!

Third year doing Irongirl Sprint (also did an Oly two weeks ago).

Adjusted numbers (took the bike pace for each and multiplied by 14, took the run pace for each and multiplies by 3.10, and added that to swim and T1 and T2 time to get comparable times since the distances are never exactly the same... the run today was 2.71mi, I feel cheated!):

2012:  2:06.14 (official time 2.00.24 with the shorter run and swim)
2011:  2:43:47
2010:  3:21:45

14.5 MPH on the bike!!  I finally got the hang of biking!  And an average candence of 80.  Went by feel without looking at the numbers (other than the distance which I always look at on the bike).

Not one of my best runs but I really left a lot on the bike.   Still 10:51mm after a bike PR, I'll take it!

For the swim I did what my coach said, stroke fast, kick hard and from the hip, rotate, AND I did what Taormina said, high shoulders and 90 degree angle with the forearm and.... still at 3:00/100m lol  That's ok, the run responded first, then the bike, the swim shall follow

I have another Sprint (800m swim, 16.1 bike, 3.1 run) on 6/3.  I can pack all my gear in 10 minutes and set up transition in about the same   Transitions getting better.

To improve that much one year is impressive, but to do it twice is amazing.

Well done!!

Thanks!   The more I get into this the more hooked I get.  Today I started my 3-a-week strength training with my triathlon coach.  She doesn't play around!  And I start my regular 2-a-week group swim (3-4 people per session, LOTS of individual attention, had just one group session so far).  Can't wait to train towards my HIM in October!
